KK-LC-1 TCR-T cells are an investigational cell therapy in which a patient's own T cells are genetically engineered to express a T cell receptor (TCR) that specifically recognizes the cancer germline antigen KK-LC-1 (Kita-Kyushu Lung Cancer Antigen 1). This antigen is abnormally expressed in several epithelial cancers, including gastric, lung, breast, and cervical cancers. The therapy involves isolating patient T cells, modifying them ex vivo to express the KK-LC-1-specific TCR (restricted by HLA-A*01:01), and infusing them back into the patient after lymphodepleting conditioning. Upon administration, these engineered T cells target and bind to tumor cells expressing KK-LC-1, leading to tumor cell lysis through immune-mediated mechanisms. Clinical trials are ongoing to evaluate safety and efficacy in metastatic epithelial cancers that express KK-LC-1[2][3][5][6].
