Overview

KK4408 is a human monoclonal antibody developed by Kyowa Kirin that targets the OX40 ligand (OX40L; also known as TNFSF4 or CD252). OX40L is a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily expressed primarily on antigen-presenting cells. Its interaction with the OX40 receptor on T cells provides a critical costimulatory signal that promotes T-cell activation, proliferation, and survival, particularly in the context of Th2-mediated immune responses. By binding to and neutralizing OX40L, KK4408 blocks the OX40-OX40L costimulatory pathway, thereby suppressing the overactive immune responses associated with inflammatory and autoimmune diseases such as atopic dermatitis. The drug has been evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and immunogenicity in healthy volunteers.
