Overview

KK8123 is an investigational monoclonal antibody developed by Kyowa Kirin for the treatment of X-linked hypophosphatemia (XLH) and related hypophosphatemic disorders. It acts as an antagonist of fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF23), a hormone involved in phosphate metabolism. By inhibiting FGF23, KK8123 aims to increase blood phosphorus levels and improve symptoms associated with XLH, such as bone disease and metabolic abnormalities. The drug is administered via subcutaneous injection and is currently being evaluated in Phase 1/2 clinical trials for safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics in adults with XLH.
