Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**KL16-012** is an investigational standardized *Cannabis sativa* extract developed by Knop Laboratorios for women with fibromyalgia refractory to conventional pharmacotherapy. The sublingual liquid extract contains delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol and cannabidiol, providing 1 mg of tetrahydrocannabinol and 0.45 mg of cannabidiol per drop. Its cannabinoid constituents modulate the endocannabinoid system, principally through cannabinoid receptors 1 and 2. KL16-012 was evaluated in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled Phase II study in 44 women with fibromyalgia in Valparaiso, Chile.
