Kleen Enema

Kleen Enema is a saline osmotic laxative developed and manufactured by Nabiqasim Industries (Pvt) Ltd. It is primarily indicated for rapid bowel preparation prior to diagnostic procedures such as sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, or surgery, and for the relief of occasional constipation. The formulation consists of a concentrated solution of monobasic sodium phosphate and dibasic sodium phosphate. When administered rectally, these inorganic salts create a high osmotic gradient that draws water from the surrounding extracellular fluid into the intestinal lumen. This increase in fluid volume softens the stool and distends the colon, which triggers peristaltic contractions and facilitates rapid evacuation of the lower bowel, typically within 2 to 5 minutes. A Phase 4 clinical study has specifically evaluated the efficacy and safety of Kleen Enema for bowel preparation in outpatients undergoing sigmoidoscopy.
