Klf10 siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of Krüpple-like factor 10 (Klf10), a transcription factor that acts as an early response gene in the TGFβ signaling pathway. Research conducted by the National Health Research Institutes (NHRI) in Taiwan has utilized Klf10 siRNA to demonstrate that the loss of Klf10 promotes epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and distant metastasis in pancreatic cancer. Mechanistically, silencing Klf10 leads to the downregulation of Sirt 6, which in turn increases the expression of glycolytic enzymes like PKM2 via HIF-1α, thereby enhancing the migratory and invasive capabilities of cancer cells. It is primarily employed as a research tool in preclinical models to study the molecular pathogenesis of pancreatic adenocarcinoma and evaluate Klf10 as a potential prognostic and therapeutic biomarker.
