KLF2 siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of Krϋppel-like factor 2 (KLF2), a flow-sensitive transcription factor. In vascular biology research, it is used to investigate the role of KLF2 in regulating endothelial barrier function, junctional stability, and cellular alignment in response to laminar shear stress. By targeting and degrading KLF2 mRNA through RNA interference, this reagent allows researchers to observe the physiological consequences of KLF2 deficiency, such as increased intracellular gaps and impaired barrier integrity in pulmonary artery endothelial cells. It is primarily utilized as a research tool to understand the mechanisms underlying conditions like high cardiac output pulmonary hypertension.
