KLH-pulsed autologous dendritic cell vaccine is a personalized cancer immunotherapy consisting of a patient's own dendritic cells (DCs) that have been matured and loaded (pulsed) with Keyhole Limpet Hemocyanin (KLH). KLH is a highly immunogenic carrier protein derived from the giant keyhole limpet (*Megathura crenulata*). In this vaccine, KLH serves as a potent adjuvant to enhance the immune response and as a tracer antigen to monitor the patient's immune competence. The vaccine is designed to stimulate a systemic T-cell mediated anti-tumor response. It is often used in combination with other therapies, such as radiation or gene therapy (e.g., TNFerade), which induce tumor cell death and release endogenous tumor antigens that the dendritic cells can then present to the immune system.
