Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Klosterfrau Hustenreizstiller Heißgetränk is an oral medical device developed by MCM Klosterfrau for the relief of dry, irritating coughs and the soothing of irritated mucous membranes in the throat. The active ingredient is gum arabic (Acacia senegal gum), which acts physically by forming a protective, moisturizing barrier film over the pharyngeal mucosa. This physical shield protects sensory receptors from external irritants, thereby reducing the cough reflex and supporting the natural healing process of the mucosal tissue. It is supplied as a powder in portion sticks to be dissolved in hot water, featuring a honey-sage flavor.
