KLS-2031 is an investigational recombinant adeno-associated virus serotype 5 gene therapy developed by Kolon Life Science for neuropathic pain. It is a fixed combination of two AAV5 vectors designed to express glutamate decarboxylase 65, glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor, and interleukin 10 in dorsal root ganglia following transforaminal epidural administration. The expressed factors are intended to reduce pathologic nociceptive hyperexcitability, support neuronal protection, and suppress neuroinflammation. KLS-2031 completed a Phase 1/2a study in neuropathic pain caused by lumbosacral radiculopathy, with a long-term follow-up study ongoing.
