Overview

KM118 (also known as XZP-KM118) is a biosimilar of pertuzumab, a monoclonal antibody targeting the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2/ERBB2). It is being developed for the treatment of HER2-positive breast cancer and other solid tumors. The drug acts primarily by inhibiting dimerization of HER2 receptors and mediating antibody-dependent cell cytotoxicity, thereby blocking downstream signaling pathways involved in tumor cell proliferation and survival. KM118 is not considered a new molecular entity but rather a biosimilar to the reference product pertuzumab. Clinical development has reached Phase II trials in China for HER2-positive breast cancer and solid tumors[1][2].
