Overview

KN033 is a biosimilar monoclonal antibody candidate of denosumab, developed by Suzhou Alphamab Co., Ltd. It is designed to treat osteoporosis and other bone-related conditions by targeting the Receptor Activator of Nuclear Factor Kappa-B Ligand (RANKL). By binding to RANKL, KN033 prevents it from activating its receptor, RANK, on the surface of osteoclasts and their precursors. This inhibition leads to a reduction in osteoclast formation, function, and survival, thereby decreasing bone resorption and increasing bone mineral density. As a biosimilar, it is intended to provide a more accessible therapeutic alternative to the reference product, Prolia/Xgeva.
