Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Knee Pain Ejiao Paste is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation developed by ShuGuang Hospital specifically for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis in patients exhibiting the Qi and Blood Deficiency pattern. The formulation incorporates *Colla Corii Asini* (Ejiao), a traditional medicinal glue made from donkey hide, which is valued in TCM for its ability to nourish blood, replenish Qi, and strengthen tendons and bones. The paste is designed to provide analgesic relief and improve joint function by addressing the systemic deficiencies believed to underlie the progression of osteoarthritis. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials to determine the specific therapeutic contribution of the Ejiao component compared to a base herbal formula.
