Overview

KNX101 is a preclinical-stage small molecule inhibitor of the enzyme ALOX15 (Arachidonate 15-lipoxygenase), currently under development by Kinoxis Therapeutics. The drug is being investigated as a novel, non-opioid therapeutic for the management of acute and chronic pain, including neuropathic and inflammatory pain conditions. ALOX15 is involved in the metabolic conversion of polyunsaturated fatty acids into bioactive lipid mediators that can drive inflammatory responses and nociceptive signaling. By selectively inhibiting ALOX15, KNX101 aims to modulate these lipid pathways to provide effective analgesia without the risks associated with traditional opioid therapies.
