Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Kofarest is a brand name representing a comprehensive range of cough and cold preparations developed and marketed by Centaur Pharmaceuticals. The Kofarest range includes several distinct formulations tailored for different types of coughs in both adult and pediatric populations. The standard Kofarest Syrup is a fixed-dose combination of the mucolytic ambroxol, the expectorant guaifenesin, and the bronchodilator terbutaline, which is indicated for the treatment of productive cough associated with bronchospasm in conditions such as bronchitis, bronchial asthma, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Other formulations in the range include Kofarest LS (containing levosalbutamol, ambroxol, and guaifenesin) and Kofarest DX (containing dextromethorphan and chlorpheniramine) to address dry, non-productive coughs.
