Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Koftab is a combination oral tablet developed by Omnica Laboratories, primarily indicated for the symptomatic relief of cough, nasal congestion, sneezing, and other symptoms associated with the common cold, allergic rhinitis, and hay fever. It is formulated as a fixed-dose combination containing three active ingredients: bromhexine hydrochloride (a mucolytic agent that reduces mucus viscosity to facilitate clearance), phenylephrine hydrochloride (a selective alpha-1 adrenergic receptor agonist that acts as a nasal decongestant by constricting blood vessels in the nasal mucosa), and chlorpheniramine maleate (a first-generation histamine H1 receptor antagonist that alleviates allergic symptoms such as sneezing and runny nose).
