Overview
Korodin is a long-established herbal pharmaceutical product developed by Robugen GmbH, primarily used in Germany for the treatment of hypotension and related circulatory disorders. It is a combination of D-camphor, derived from the Chinese camphor tree, and a liquid extract of hawthorn (Crataegus) berries. The drug is administered as oral drops and is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of orthostatic hypotension, vegetative-functional cardiovascular complaints, and as supportive therapy for mild cardiac insufficiency (NYHA Stage II). Its mechanism of action involves a mild increase in cardiac contractile force (positive inotropy), vasodilation, and improvement in coronary blood flow. Clinical evaluations include Phase III studies for orthostatic hypotension in elderly populations and Phase I studies assessing its impact on blood pressure and cognitive function.
