Overview
Kosuya, also known by its active ingredient Losartan Potassium, is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) primarily used to treat hypertension. It functions by selectively blocking the angiotensin II type 1 (AT1) receptor, which prevents vasoconstriction and reduces aldosterone secretion, thereby lowering blood pressure. This mechanism also contributes to improving cardiac remodeling, mitigating myocardial hypertrophy, and safeguarding kidney function. It is particularly beneficial for patients with hypertension who also experience left ventricular hypertrophy, diabetes, or chronic kidney disease. Kosuya is administered orally.
