Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Kouyanqing Granule is a traditional Chinese patent medicine widely used in China for the treatment of inflammatory diseases of the mouth and throat, such as oral ulcers, stomatitis, and herpetic stomatitis. The herbal formula is composed of five traditional Chinese herbs: Flos lonicerae (山银花), Radix scrophulariae (玄参), Radix ophiopogonis (麦冬), Radix asparagi (天冬), and Radix et rhizoma glycyrrhizae (甘草). It possesses anti-inflammatory, heat-clearing, and swelling-reducing properties, and is clinically indicated for oral inflammation caused by 'yin deficiency with hyperactive fire' syndrome. Kouyanqing Granule has been shown to promote oral ulcer healing and alleviate pain by suppressing systemic inflammation and downregulating pro-inflammatory cytokines, including TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, and IL-8.
