Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Kovax Flu PF is an inactivated, split-virion influenza vaccine developed by Koreavaccine for the prevention of influenza caused by influenza A and B viruses. It is approved for use in a broad population, including infants from 6 months of age, children, adolescents, and adults. The vaccine is presented in a pre-filled syringe (PF) for intramuscular administration. As a split-virion vaccine, it contains viral components that have been chemically disrupted, primarily focusing on the hemagglutinin (HA) surface proteins of the influenza strains recommended by the WHO for the specific flu season. By introducing these antigens, the vaccine stimulates the host's immune system to produce neutralizing antibodies, providing active immunity against the circulating H1N1, H3N2, and B-lineage strains.
