KP-2326 is a **preclinical analogue of etelcalcetide**, a peptide **calcimimetic** designed for experimental study of secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT) in chronic kidney disease (CKD)[1][2][3][5][7]. KP-2326 acts as an allosteric activator of the calcium-sensing receptor, leading to reduced parathyroid hormone (PTH) secretion[5]. Unlike vitamin D analogues, KP-2326 maintains efficacy in advanced CKD where resistance to vitamin D is common[2][4]. Its mechanism supports the management of CKD-related mineral and bone disorder (CKD-MBD) and has shown benefits on bone quality and mechanical properties in preclinical studies[1][7].
