Overview

KP8041 is an investigational cell therapy consisting of induced pluripotent stem cell (iPS)-derived neural progenitor cells (iPS-NPCs). Developed by K Pharma, Inc. in collaboration with Osaka Medical Center, the program is an expansion of the company's KP8031 asset (which targets spinal cord injury) into the indication of chronic cerebral hemorrhage. The therapy aims to promote functional recovery in the brain following a hemorrhagic stroke by transplanting neural progenitor cells that can differentiate into neurons and glial cells, potentially integrating into the host tissue or providing neurotrophic support to damaged areas. KP8041 is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
