Drug intelligence / Profile preview
KPE-00001128 is a small molecule anti-inflammatory candidate developed by Kemin Pharma, a division of Kemin Industries. The compound was identified as part of Kemin's pharmaceutical pipeline, which expanded significantly following the 2009 acquisition of Amalyte Pharmaceuticals. KPE-00001128 is designed to treat chronic inflammatory conditions, such as psoriasis and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), by inhibiting the production of key pro-inflammatory cytokines, including tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) and interleukin-6 (IL-6). While it showed potential in preclinical models for its ability to modulate inflammatory pathways, development appears to have been discontinued as Kemin Industries shifted its strategic focus away from traditional pharmaceutical drug development toward nutraceuticals, dietary supplements, and animal health ingredients.
