KPI-150 is a peptide-based inhibitor of the voltage-gated Kv1.3 potassium channel, originally developed by KPI Therapeutics (later renamed Kv1.3 Therapeutics). It is an analog of dalazatide, designed specifically for topical administration as a cream to treat inflammatory skin conditions such as atopic dermatitis and psoriasis. The drug works by selectively blocking Kv1.3 channels on activated effector memory T cells (TEM cells), which are primary drivers of the autoimmune response and inflammation in the skin. By inhibiting these channels, KPI-150 reduces T-cell infiltration and inflammatory cytokine production. Preclinical studies showed effective skin penetration and reduction in ear thickness in animal models, but the development program has since been discontinued.
