KPNA7 siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of Karyopherin Alpha 7 (KPNA7), a member of the alpha karyopherin family of nuclear import receptors. KPNA7 is frequently overexpressed in pancreatic cancer and is absent in most normal adult tissues, making it a selective therapeutic target. By inhibiting KPNA7 expression, this siRNA induces G1 cell cycle arrest through the upregulation of the cell cycle regulator p21. In preclinical models of pancreatic cancer, KPNA7 silencing has been shown to significantly reduce cell growth, anchorage-independent growth, migration, and invasion, suggesting its potential as a targeted antineoplastic agent.
