KpnB1 siRNA is an experimental research reagent consisting of small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of the *KPNB1* gene (also known as karyopherin beta-1 or importin beta-1). KPNB1 is a nuclear transport receptor that facilitates the translocation of cargo proteins into the cell nucleus. In preclinical oncology research, KpnB1 siRNA is used to knock down KPNB1 expression, which has been shown to inhibit cell proliferation and induce apoptosis in various cancer cell lines, including epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) and chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). It serves primarily as a tool for validating KPNB1 as a therapeutic target rather than being a clinical-stage drug candidate itself.
