Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Krallendorn is a botanical pharmaceutical product developed by Immodal Pharmaka, derived from the root of the *Uncaria tomentosa* (cat's claw) plant. It is standardized for pentacyclic oxindole alkaloids (POAs), including pteropodine, mitraphilline, and Uncarine F. These alkaloids exert immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory effects, primarily by modulating cytokine production and enhancing phagocytosis. Approved in Austria since 2004 for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, Krallendorn has also been investigated for its potential in managing allergies, viral infections (such as herpes and HIV/AIDS), and cancer.
