KRC-01 is an injectable solution containing hydrogen peroxide (3%) with sodium hyaluronate (1%), developed as a radiosensitizer for the treatment of malignant solid tumors, particularly those with hypoxic cancer cells and/or high levels of antioxidative enzymes. The active ingredient, hydrogen peroxide, inactivates antioxidative enzymes and produces oxygen when applied to tumor tissues. This dual action helps eliminate tumor hypoxia—a major cause of radioresistance—thereby enhancing the efficacy of radiotherapy without increasing radiation exposure or side effects to healthy tissue. KRC-01 is being investigated primarily for use in combination with chemoradiation therapy in patients with locally advanced cervical cancer who have not received prior treatment. It is also under development for other solid tumors and breast cancer[1][2][3][5].
