KRIYA-893 is an investigational adeno-associated virus (AAV) gene therapy being developed by Kriya Therapeutics for the treatment of geographic atrophy (GA) secondary to age-related macular degeneration (AMD). The therapy is designed to deliver a functional gene encoding a variant of complement factor H (CFH), a key regulator of the alternative complement pathway. By increasing the expression of CFH in the retina, KRIYA-893 aims to inhibit the overactive complement-mediated inflammation and tissue damage that drive the progression of GA. It is typically administered via intravitreal injection to provide sustained, localized production of the therapeutic protein.
