Overview

KROS 102 is a small-molecule antagonist of the Glucocorticoid-induced TNFR-related protein (GITR) currently in preclinical development by Kairos Pharma for the treatment of autoimmune diseases. Unlike GITR agonists, which are typically used in oncology to stimulate immune responses, KROS 102 acts as an antagonist to inhibit T cell growth and effector function. It is designed to enhance regulatory T (Treg) cell functions while suppressing the number and activity of effector T cells in a dose-dependent manner. By preventing the binding of the GITR ligand, KROS 102 shifts the immune balance toward tolerance, offering potential therapeutic applications for conditions such as Crohn's disease, multiple sclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis.
