KROS201 is an autologous activated T cell (ATC) therapy developed by Kairos Pharma for the treatment of recurrent glioblastoma. The therapy is produced by stimulating a patient's peripheral blood mononuclear cells with cytokines and co-culturing them with dendritic cells that have been pulsed with glioblastoma cancer stem cell-specific antigens. This process generates a population of potent "killer" T cells that are then infused intravenously back into the patient. The primary objective of KROS201 is to target and eliminate cancer stem cells (CSCs), which are hypothesized to be the root cause of tumor recurrence and resistance to standard therapies. KROS201 has received Investigational New Drug (IND) clearance from the FDA and is currently undergoing Phase I clinical evaluation at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
