KRP-S124 (also known as BAY2925976) is a small molecule modulator of the alpha-2C adrenergic receptor (ADRA2C) being developed by Kyorin Pharmaceutical for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Originally discovered by Bayer and licensed to Kyorin in December 2024, the compound represents a novel pharmacological approach to OSA, a condition that currently relies heavily on mechanical interventions like continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) devices. By targeting the ADRA2C receptor, the drug is intended to modulate the neural control of upper airway muscles to prevent collapse during sleep. It is currently in early-stage clinical development.
