KRSA-028 is a next-generation shuttled monoclonal antibody being developed by Korsana Biosciences for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. It selectively targets amyloid beta (Aβ) forms enriched in amyloid plaques. The drug utilizes the proprietary THETA™ (Therapeutic Targeting) platform, which incorporates transferrin receptor (TfR1) binding to facilitate transport across the blood-brain barrier and Fc engineering to attenuate effector function, thereby reducing the risk of amyloid-related imaging abnormalities (ARIA). Unlike currently approved intravenous treatments like lecanemab and donanemab, KRSA-028 is formulated for low-volume subcutaneous administration.
