Drug intelligence / Profile preview
KryptoScan is an approved **radiopharmaceutical** pulmonary ventilation imaging product developed and manufactured by BV Cyclotron and distributed by Curium Pharma. It is a **rubidium-81/krypton-81m radionuclide generator** in which rubidium-81 on an ion-exchange resin decays to produce gaseous krypton-81m, an inert, non-metabolized noble gas that is inhaled continuously through a respiratory mask for **SPECT lung ventilation imaging**. The agent is used for pulmonary ventilation studies and, when paired with pulmonary perfusion scintigraphy, supports the diagnostic workup of **pulmonary embolism**; its low radiation burden has also made it suitable for pediatric imaging.
