Drug intelligence / Profile preview
KS24.22 is an allogeneic, devitalized (lethally irradiated) breast cancer cell line vaccine developed by the University Hospital Tuebingen. The cell line is HLA-A*0201-positive and has been genetically modified to express the costimulatory molecule CD80 (B7-1) and the tumor-associated antigen HER2/neu. It is designed to induce systemic immune responses by activating tumor-specific CD8+ T-lymphocytes in HLA-A*02-matched patients with metastatic breast cancer. By providing both the tumor antigen (HER2) and the necessary costimulatory signal (CD80), the vaccine aims to overcome tumor-induced immunosuppression and promote an effective anti-tumor immune response.
