Overview

KSHB006 is a biosimilar candidate of denosumab, a human monoclonal antibody, being developed by Kashiv BioSciences. It is designed to inhibit the Receptor Activator of Nuclear Factor Kappa-B Ligand (RANKL), a protein that plays a critical role in bone metabolism by promoting the development and activity of osteoclasts. By binding to RANKL, KSHB006 prevents the activation of the RANK receptor on the surface of osteoclasts and their precursors, thereby reducing bone resorption and increasing bone mineral density. The reference products for this biosimilar are Prolia, indicated for the treatment of osteoporosis and bone loss, and Xgeva, indicated for the prevention of skeletal-related events in patients with bone metastases from solid tumors and for the treatment of giant cell tumor of bone.
