Overview
KSO-0400 is a once-daily formulation of silodosin, a highly selective alpha-1A adrenergic receptor antagonist, developed by Kissei Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. for the treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). By selectively binding to alpha-1A receptors located in the prostate, bladder neck, and prostatic urethra, the drug promotes smooth muscle relaxation, which reduces urethral resistance and alleviates obstructive symptoms. This once-daily formulation is intended to improve patient compliance compared to the standard twice-daily dosing of silodosin used in some regions.
