Overview

KT7-533 is a synthetic small molecule glycolipid and a C-glycoside analog of alpha-galactosylceramide (alpha-GalCer). Developed by Kotobuki Pharmaceutical, it acts as a potent agonist for invariant Natural Killer T (iNKT) cells. Unlike the O-glycoside parent compound, the C-glycoside structure of KT7-533 is designed to be more stable and to induce a Th1-polarized immune response, characterized by the sustained production of interferon-gamma (IFN-γ). This immunomodulatory profile is intended to enhance anti-tumor and anti-viral immune responses. The compound is currently in the preparation stage for Phase 1 clinical trials and has been licensed to a third party for clinical development.
