Drug intelligence / Profile preview
KTI-016 is a **fully human monoclonal antibody** developed by **Keros Therapeutics** that is designed to bind and neutralize **activin receptor type-1**, also known as **ALK2**. By inhibiting ALK2 signaling, the antibody suppresses hepcidin production, a key regulator of iron homeostasis, and was being explored as a treatment for **anemias driven by elevated hepcidin**, including **iron-refractory iron deficiency anemia** and **anemia of inflammation**. Preclinical studies in cynomolgus monkeys showed substantial hepcidin lowering after administration, but the program has been reported as **discontinued**.
