Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ktodin is an ophthalmic combination drug containing ketorolac tromethamine (0.4% w/v), a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), and olopatadine hydrochloride (0.1% w/v), an antihistamine and mast cell stabilizer. Developed by Optho Pharma, it is formulated as topical eye drops for the treatment of allergic conjunctivitis and associated ocular discomfort and inflammation. Olopatadine acts as a selective histamine H1 receptor antagonist and inhibits the release of inflammatory mediators from mast cells, while ketorolac inhibits prostaglandin synthesis by targeting cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzymes, thereby reducing ocular pain, redness, and swelling.
