Drug intelligence / Profile preview
KTX-0141 is a preclinical-stage, small-molecule positive allosteric modulator (PAM) of tropomyosin receptor kinase B (TrkB) being developed by Kasvu Therapeutics for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD). Originating from research at the University of Helsinki, KTX-0141 is designed to selectively amplify endogenous brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) signaling at TrkB, promoting neuroplasticity pathways associated with rapid and long-lasting antidepressant effects. Unlike traditional psychedelics, KTX-0141 does not engage the 5-HT2A serotonin receptor, thereby avoiding hallucinogenic side effects and potentially enabling at-home administration.
