Overview

KU43.13A is a novel mouse monoclonal antibody (mAb) targeting the external domain of CD109, a cell surface antigen overexpressed in human pancreatic cancer cells. Developed by researchers at Kingston University London, KU43.13A was generated against the BxPC-3 pancreatic cancer cell line. While the naked antibody does not significantly inhibit tumor cell growth or migration in vitro, it serves as a specific tool for detecting CD109 expression. CD109 is highly expressed in approximately 94% of pancreatic adenocarcinoma cases but absent in normal pancreatic tissue, making KU43.13A a potential candidate for diagnostic applications or as a targeting component for humanized or conjugated therapeutic versions, such as antibody-drug conjugates.
