Kuan-Sin-Yin

Kuan-Sin-Yin (KSY) is a traditional Chinese medicinal (TCM) decoction primarily developed and researched in Taiwan for its therapeutic potential in oncology and infectious diseases. The formula consists of a specific combination of botanical extracts, most commonly featuring *Astragalus membranaceus*, *Scutellaria baicalensis*, *Lycium barbarum*, and *Curcuma longa*. In the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), KSY has demonstrated the ability to inhibit tumor growth, migration, and invasion by downregulating key proteins involved in angiogenesis and tissue remodeling, such as vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and matrix metallopeptidase 9 (MMP-9), and by inducing apoptosis through the activation of the caspase cascade. Additionally, KSY has been utilized as a supportive treatment for COVID-19 to modulate the immune system and alleviate respiratory symptoms.
