Kudiezi

Kudiezi is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) derived from the plant *Ixeris sonchifolia* (also known by its synonym *Crepidiastrum sonchifolium*). It is widely utilized in clinical practice in China, most notably in the form of Kudiezi Injection, for the treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular conditions such as coronary heart disease, angina pectoris, and cerebral infarction. The extract contains a variety of bioactive constituents, including terpenoids (specifically sesquiterpene lactones) and flavonoids. Recent pharmacological research has demonstrated that Kudiezi extract (IsE) possesses significant antineoplastic potential, particularly against hepatocellular carcinoma. Its mechanism of action in this context involves the inhibition of the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway and the disruption of mitochondrial function, which collectively induce apoptosis in cancer cells. Additionally, it is recognized as an edible wild plant with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
