Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Kudinoside A is a triterpenoid saponin isolated from the leaves of *Ilex kudingcha* (Kuding tea). It is being developed by Shanghai General Hospital as an inhaled therapy for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The compound exhibits anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, which are hypothesized to mitigate airway inflammation and improve pulmonary function in COPD patients. Clinical evaluation is currently focused on safety and pulmonary function effects in adults with moderate COPD through inhaled administration of a solution formulation.
