Overview

Kui-Yuan (KYCT) is a traditional Chinese medicine formulation developed as a chewable tablet for the management of hyperuricemia. Hyperuricemia is characterized by elevated serum uric acid levels and is associated with increased risk for gout and other chronic diseases. Existing uric acid-lowering drugs often have significant adverse effects; thus, KYCT aims to provide a safer alternative therapy. The mechanism of action has not been fully elucidated but is presumed to involve modulation of purine metabolism or enhancement of uric acid excretion based on its clinical use in lowering serum uric acid levels. Clinical studies are ongoing to evaluate its efficacy and safety in patients with hyperuricemia[1][2].
