Drug intelligence / Profile preview
KuiAnNingFang (KANF) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula developed for the treatment of ulcerative colitis (UC), a chronic and relapsing inflammatory bowel disease. The formula exerts its therapeutic effects by modulating the gut microbiota and suppressing key inflammatory signaling pathways, specifically the NF-κB and NLRP3 inflammasome pathways. By inhibiting these pathways, KANF reduces the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, helps restore the intestinal mucosal barrier, and corrects microbial dysbiosis. It is primarily studied in preclinical and clinical settings in China as an alternative or complementary therapy for inflammatory conditions of the colonic mucosa.
