Overview

Kumu Injection is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) injectable preparation derived from the dried stem or bark of *Picrasma quassioides* (D. Don) Benn. Developed and manufactured by Jiangxi Wannianqing Pharmaceutical, it is a long-standing marketed product in China. The injection contains various alkaloids, notably canthin-6-one derivatives, which possess broad-spectrum antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory properties. It is clinically indicated for the treatment of upper respiratory tract infections, acute tonsillitis, and bacterial dysentery, functioning through the TCM principle of heat-clearing and detoxifying (qingre jiedu).
