Overview

KUN-GMCSF is a recombinant human granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (rhGM-CSF) developed by Kunlun (Beijing) Biotechnology. It functions as a hematopoietic growth factor that stimulates the proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic progenitor cells into neutrophils, monocytes, macrophages, and myeloid dendritic cells. By binding to the GM-CSF receptor (CD116), it activates the JAK2-STAT5 signaling pathway, which is critical for the survival and functional activation of these myeloid lineages. In clinical development, KUN-GMCSF is primarily targeted at treating chemotherapy-induced leukopenia and neutropenia. Additionally, it is being investigated as an immunotherapeutic adjuvant in oncology to enhance the recruitment and maturation of antigen-presenting cells within the tumor microenvironment, thereby potentially augmenting the efficacy of other cancer therapies such as oncolytic viruses or checkpoint inhibitors.
