Overview

Kun Yi Ning granules is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation developed by the Zhejiang Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of perimenopausal syndrome. It is specifically indicated for patients presenting with the traditional Chinese medicine pattern of "kidney yin and yang deficiency." The drug is designed to alleviate perimenopausal symptoms such as hot flashes, sweating, insomnia, and irritability by regulating the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis and balancing sex hormone levels, including follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), and estradiol (E2). It has been evaluated in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled Phase II clinical trial in China, where it demonstrated efficacy in improving Kupperman scores and TCM symptom scales over an 8-week treatment period.
